Russell & Aimee

Russell and Aimee were married at the Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

It’s a wonderful little white clapboard church in Magazine, Arkansas, from which you have a view of Mount Magazine through the door of the church.

Russell and Aimee are such a beautiful couple inside and out.

You can tell they adore each other.

Jason & Templar

Jason and Templar were married in Poteau at the Immanuel Baptist Church and had their reception at the
Costner-Balentine Student Center Ballroom at Carl Albert.
Lots of gorgeous pink. I so love pink!
The cupcakes were beautiful!

Brian & Jamie

I love this “formal” shot, because it’s not so formal. The precious ring bearer gazing up at the beautiful bride and the cute little flower girl standing on the sides of her feet made this my favorite from their wedding.

Brian and Jamie were married in Tuttle, Oklahoma.

David & Amanda

David and Amanda are engaged to be married in June. We had a beautiful day for photos in spite of the wind.

Sam & Aimee – Brunwick Chapel Ft. Smith

Aimee and Sam were married at the Brunwick Wedding Chapel Saturday. It was a rainy day outside, but the love inside warmed everyone.

Chris & Rachael

Chris & Rachael are from Arlington, Texas. I  had fun following them around a park there in Arlington taking their engagement photos. I’m honored to shoot their wedding at the gorgeous Green Oaks Wedding Chapel in May. Congratulations and blessings on your upcoming wedding!

The Bonneville House in Fort Smith, Arkansas

Brian and April were married at the Bonneville. It was so sweet. I have been teary-eyed at weddings, and this was one of them.

Brian & Kellye

Brian and Kellye won the Free Wedding Photography Contest so I went down to Camden, Arkansas to shoot their wedding in January. Two sweet families joined in celebrating the marriage of these two special people and saw them exchange their first kiss. That’s right, their FIRST ever kiss. Pretty amazing and cool I think.

To have and to hold

First kiss

Besides pastoring a church, Brian’s dad is a very nice cartoonist. Congratulations Rambo Baby and Bandanna Boots! I’m so glad I had the privilege of doing your wedding.

2010-2011 Weddings and Questions You Should Ask a Wedding Photographer

I have two June weddings and a July wedding booked for 2011. Yippee!  It’s exciting to have clients in Arkansas and Oklahoma who love my work and recognize the fact that I’m booking popular dates rather quickly.

After checking out some “professional” photos of weddings this last year on people’s social networking sites and their prints, I’m taken aback by what people consider good photography. Maybe I’m too critical because I know what “good” photos are supposed to look like, or maybe people are just trying to be polite, but if you’re shopping around for a wedding photographer I’m offering you some MORE tips to make your decision easier. You may also check out my previous posts about Choosing a Wedding Photographer Wisely and What I Think Makes a Good Photographer.

Questions to ask your potential wedding photographer:

  • Are you a full-time photographer?
  • How many weddings do you shoot per year?
  • Is my wedding the only one you will shoot that day?
  • Have you ever been published?
  • What is your style? (Traditional, photojournalist…)
  • Do you have a plan for getting the posed shots done in a timely manner after the ceremony?
  • How will you safeguard my photos?
  • How many photos on average can I expect?
  • Do you offer a disc and release?
  • What kind of albums do you offer?
  • Are you willing to customize a package?
  • What kind of corrections will be done on my photos?
  • Do you have back-up equipment?
  • Do you have references?
  • Are there any additional charges? (travel fee?)
  • Is the deposit fee an additional charge or is it coming off the balance?
  • What would our payment schedule be?
